Project - Langley Park School for Girls in Bromley

Description of work - The erection of a new music block, two storey extension to the Sixth Form Block and amended car parking.

How we added value - Our planning team advised the client prior to and during the application process to ensure a positive outcome. During the process additional evidence was provided to the Council regarding the very special circumstances in support of the proposal culminating in attendance at Bromley Planning Committee to speak in support of the application.

Outcome - Planning Application approved at Committee

Comments - Obtaining permission for new development within Metropolitan Open Land utilises the same policy framework as new development in Metropolitan Green Belt (i.e. See guidance contained in PPG2 Greenbelts and the Draft National Planning Policy Framework). It is vital that early consultation is sought regarding projects in either location to ensure the additional planning policy constraints are addressed from the start.
