Riverbank House appeal allowed

02/12/2011

Planning permission has been allowed for the alteration and extension of Riverbank House, 1 Putney Bridge Approach, Fulham. The proposal sought two additional floors to provide residential accommodation, facade re-cladding and lift installation works.

The Inspector noted that the land surrounding the site included 4 different conservation areas, the Grade II Listed Putney Bridge and the Grade II* Listed All Saints Church. In addition, views of the appeal proposal were also possible from the Borough's only Grade I Listed Building, Fulham Palace.

The Inspector concluded that the heritage significance of the individual settings of the Conservation Areas would not be seriously affected by the proposed addition of 2 floors and alterations proposed.

For further information regarding the above please contact Brian Woods on 01737 225711.

Consultation Response Workshop

19/10/2011

If you attended the joint WS Planning & Architecture and Reigate & Banstead Borough Council Seminar on 13th December 2010, you will have heard the Council’s Officers explain the Local Development Framework process, and the importance of taking up opportunities to influence the formulation of policy at an early stage.

Following examination by an independent Planning Inspector and withdrawal of the draft Core Strategy, the Council has revisited important aspects of the draft Core Strategy to ensure that it provides a clear plan for managing future development.

This non-statutory stage of consultation focuses specifically on the following issues:

• Housing provision
• The economy and provision of employment floorspace
• Retail provision
• Infrastructure and services required to support future development.

This is therefore an excellent opportunity for you to make comments on important issues regarding the Council’s housing targets and the future of the Green Belt. The IDP is also an important document because it will affect the amount of money you will have to pay in contributions to secure your development proposals.

If you currently have, or intend to have, an interest in land or developing land for housing, commercial or social infrastructure schemes in Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s area, then it is essential for you to attend and participate in this workshop.

Following the workshop on 1st November 2011 we will be submitting a co-ordinated response on behalf of all developers, landowners and agents who attend. However, you may just choose to attend the workshop.  You do not have to be a party to the comments we submit after the event.

The workshop will involve participation from those attending, and will be facilitated by WS Planning & Architecture’s policy expert, Maggie Williams. Both the Core Strategy and the IDP are lengthy and detailed documents, and therefore we will prioritise the main issues to be considered. Following the workshop, a response will be prepared to reflect the discussions, and submitted to the Council as a formal response on behalf of those attending.

Please e-mail admin@wsplanning.co.uk for further information on how to book your place.
