Alan Tompson BA(Hons) PG Dip.Arch RIBA

Director

Alan studied Architecture at the University of Plymouth, East London & Westminster University and became a Fully Qualified Architect 1998 having gained experience in Munich & London on various residential, commercial and schools projects.

He continued to work in private practice on numerous award winning public & private residential schemes and was later head hunted to work for a regional housing developer as their Design Architect.

In 2004 he became the Planner Manager for a medium sized house builder and helped develop their reputation for quality developments ranging from bespoke one off luxury homes to family dwellings and superior collections of apartments in South East England. He was key in liaising with LPA’s & External Consultants in resolving complicated planning and technical issues within Brownfield sites, developing feasibility studies to obtain planning application approvals and value engineered developed schemes.

Alan became a Director of WS Planning & Architecture in June 2010 and leads the Architectural arm of the business. He provides advice and expertise aswell as bespoke solutions for our clients Architectural needs.




David Synge Dip Hons Arch

Architect

David studied Architecture at the University of Greenwich and became a fully qualified Architect in 1999.

He has worked in private practice, gaining extensive experience in the residential, commercial and leisure sectors. In 2003, David took up the role of Design Architect for a large regional housing developer and oversaw their design development and planning applications.

Since leaving the housing developer he has worked as Project Architect on large cinema, retail and hotel schemes as well as continuing to work extensively in the residential market. Working on all aspects of the design stages from feasibility studies to full working drawing packages, he has an excellent understanding of how to get the most out of the design process, and extensive experience in liaising with Planning Officers and Building Inspectors to negotiate successful schemes.

David joined WS Planning & Architecture in January 2011 and leads the technical department as well as providing advice and design for the earlier planning stages, putting his experience to good use in unlocking potential for our clients.




Alison Hawkins BA (Hons) dip. Arch - ARB

Architect

Alison studied Architecture at the University of Plymouth becoming a fully qualified Architect in 1999. Her extensive experience in housing ranges from small scale one off houses to large mixed use developments of more than 500 units. 

Alison has work in private practice in London where she worked on high specification apartments and houses in the Isle of Dogs and Butlers Wharf areas carrying projects through from the planning stage to working drawings and contract administration.

Following this Alison moved to a large multi disciplinary practice which specialised in housing where she designed and project led an award winning conversion of a Victorian school building into luxury apartments. From here she worked on the master planning and detail development of housing schemes for volume house builders.  This then led to her specialising in affordable housing for Housing Associations in London and the south east.

Alison joined WS Planning & Architecture in June 2011 on a part time basis where she helps provide design expertise and advice for our clients architectural requirements.




Krishna Kadam B'Arch MSc (International Urban Planning)

Assistant Urban Designer

Krishna completed his Masters degree in Urban Planning together with a Post Graduate Certificate in Planning Practice at Cardiff University after obtaining a degree in architecture from Karnataka University, India in July 2002. Krishna is currently working towards becoming a full Member of the RTPI.

Krishna joined WS Planning & Architecture from Torfaen County Council in Wales in September 2005. Krishna is a member of the Company’s Urban Design Team. His role involves undertaking site surveys and preparation of drawings for a wide range of projects. Krishna also prepares Design and Access Statements to accompany planning applications submitted by the company on behalf of a wide range of clients.

Recently Krishna has assisted colleagues in the Development Control role undertaken by the company on behalf of Epsom and Ewell Borough council.
